No Endorsement from Ministry of Education on School COVID Indemnity letters

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information says it is not endorsing the action by some schools to have parents sign waivers indemnifying their institutions should the students contract COVID -19 during face to face learning. The report was made over the weekend with Mona Heights Primary being identified as one of the schools. In a statement today, the Ministry of Education advised that it has taken note of the report and is reminding principals that they are to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Disaster Risk Management protocols in communicating with parents and students in response to suspected or confirmed Covid-19 cases.
